Sponsor: Naz Ahmed, nahmed@d211.org The HEHS Forensics (Speech & Acting) team is an IHSA competitive activity and has a long standing tradition of excellence in competitive public speaking, acting, and performance. Students compete in 14 very unique events, ranging from speaking to acting to newscasting to Poetry and Prose Reading and comedy. As students compete in high school forensics, they find that their skills in areas such as researching, writing, critical thinking, persentation, and interpersonal communication dramatically improve. Students are judged against their competitors at tournaments, competing for a chance to participate in the final round, and boost the team score, while winning trophies and medals for themselves and their team. The most important part of being on our team is being a part of a passionate group of people who consider themselves family, and have tons of fun throughout the process of learning, competing, and growing! |
